NSG looks to strengthen rail
infrastructure offering after Altrad acquisition
Leading scaffolding and industrial services firm NSG is looking to
expand further into the rail sector after the business was acquired
by the France based Altrad Group.
The Deeside based company, which works on construction and
renovation projects across the UK, will remain in the charge of
managing director Mike Carr.
Mr Carr said with the backing of Altrad, NSG was in a better
position to capitalize on opportunities in the rail sector.
"We are delighted with this acquisition and to become part of the
Altrad Group," he said. "This will enhance NSG's core service
offering to clients across the UK and we are particularly looking
to strengthen our offering to organisations working within our
railway infrastructure. We have undertaken a variety of station and
bridge renovation projects recently with great success. This has
included grit blasting, painting and scaffold access at multiple
sites in Cumbria and Merseyside - we pride ourselves on being able
to offer a one stop solution.
"With the support of Altrad there is tremendous opportunity for
growth and we have further capacity to take on one off jobs or
contracts at multiple railway sites. Altrad will bring a wealth of
experience and contacts to the table which we are aiming to
capitalise on."
NSG UK offers scaffolding services, access solutions, thermal
insulation, industrial cleaning and industrial painting. It has a
turnover of £20million with 320 employees.
The Altrad Group - which has acquired 100% of the shares of NSG -
identified the business as a platform to expand its services across
the UK in sectors such as the UK's transport infrastructure.
Altrad owns 54 companies across the globe, specialising in the
manufacturing and sales of scaffolding, together with providing
additional services in the scaffolding sector.
Since its founding in 1971, NSG has grown to become one of the
nation's leading access and multi discipline industrial service
organisations. Clients include Ineos Chlor Vinyls, Ineos
Enterprises, Centrica, Balfour Beatty, Cammell Laird, Corus and
Laing O'Rourke.
